We are a full service media production house focused on inspiring brand recognition and audience loyalty through the collaborative creation of engaging content.
Do you have an idea for a video project but don't know where to start? Our first meeting is always free and we can offer general guidance and consultation on whether your idea is really that crazy (it's not!) If you're still unsure, we can always take the reins by offering script writing, storyboarding, location scouting, casting, coordinating and all those little things that take time away from your vision and busy schedule.
We have all the gear to make your project a success. If not, we'll find a way to get it. We're resourceful. Once on set, we'll set the scene with lights, cameras and actions (if necessary). A typical day of shooting includes a Director of Photography with a one or two camera HD setup, 3-point lighting system and full wireless audio package. We also own and operate a drone, steadicam rig, 6 foot jib and an assortment of other "toys" to maximize production value.
Finally, we'll take that exquisitely planned seed of an idea that was shot so elegantly with pristine, crystal clear sound and turn it into a fully finished product to show off to all your friends, clients and competitors. We are well versed using both Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere. It's said that any video is made three different times. Once in the writing, again during filming and lastly during the editing, when it all comes together. That's our favorite part!
Drew Dull and Justin Strandlund both moved to Chicago in 2003 to attend Columbia College Chicago. In fact, they lived in the same exact building without ever meeting. That building was located at 2 East 8th Street, in Chicago's South Loop neighborhood.
Fast forward ten years to when Drew was put in charge of hiring a new production coordinator at the company he worked for. Justin was the applicant that walked through the door and left no doubt that he was the perfect fit for the position.
They quickly bonded through their mutual hatred of math and love of beer. More importantly though, they found in each other, the urgency to create and be creative. They began collaborating on various projects that would lead them down a path to their eventual destination -- 2 East 8th Productions.
We are storytellers. We don't just want to create. We NEED to create. Let us help you tell your story. And let's have an awesome time doing it!
For years, Doug Cochrane and Justin Strandlund have been good friends and frequent improv partners. They share a love of debating any topic, although their discussions usually come back around to two things: movies and space. Their most infamous debate involved a 2 hour discussion (while at work) about the actual possibility of time travel and its potential ramifications on mankind; this included a full diagram drawn on a wall-sized whiteboard. Time well spent.
Mind Gap is what happens when they sit together in front of a microphone and press record.
Sharing stories over drinks is a tradition as old as drinking itself...probably. When it comes to telling stories over drinks, or telling stories about drunks, there is none better suited for the job than a bartender. Each week Justin and Milos sit down with a bar industry professional and share stories they've accumulated over years of both working and drinking in bars. Nothing is off limits, from getting a $1,000 tip for dancing on the bar, to having sex in the beer cooler. Grab a drink, sit back, and who knows, you may even hear a story about you.
